Activities

The island has a rich history to discover, including both Mahon and Ciutadella (the previous capital); various forts (such as Fort Marlborough & La Mola); numerous megalithic stone structures; and the unmissable Isla Del Rey and its magnificent early 18th century British naval hospital, which now hosts a Hauser & Wirth art exhibition centre, and its Cantina Bar/Restaurant (accessible by ferry, water taxi & private boat).

It's optimistically said that there are 365 beaches in Menorca: though as an alternative to exploring the many beaches and calas, the 180 km medieval defensive path (Cami de Cavalls) runs around the perimeter of the island - most of which can still be walked or cycled.

Other activities to consider include tennis/paddle, golf, dinghy sailing school, RYA day skipper courses, water parks, riding, zoological park, go-carting, scuba-diving, spa treatments, harbour tours in glass bottomed boats, rural gourmet restaurants, local markets & fiestas, visits/tours to Lazaretto or Isla del Rey (incorporating Hauser & Wirth); and hiring bicycles, kayaks/paddle-boards, motor/sailing boats.

There is a wide range of very reasonably priced bars, bistros, & restaurants - including many popular first-rate restaurants: we will gladly provide a list of suggestions to any guests, so that that tables can be booked in advance.

Menorca is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Ribs and other boats:
Various ribs/boats (moored within five minutes walk of the house) are generally available to hire by the day or the week, with or without a skipper: please do ask us for contact details if interested.

Water Taxis:
Water taxis (including eco/solar-powered boats) can be booked to take you to Mahon, Es Castel or Isla del Rey - they will generally pick you up from the jetty at the bottom of the garden.
